Dimensions Of A Series Paper Sizes

The dimensions of the A series paper sizes, as defined by the ISO 216 standard, are given in the table below in both millimetres and inches. The A series paper sizes are now in common use throughout Australia and New Zeland.

Gsm (Grams Per Square Metre) used for calculating the weight of the paper. Micron refers to the thickness of the stock. Some people call it as UMS. It is often used for boards and packaging grade paper.

Generally, we use the following GSM for the below products.

Uncoated Stock (Text Weight)

Letterheads, with comp slips – 90/ 100 /110 or 120 gsm High White laser stock

                  Flyers, brochures – 80 to 150gsm high white offset bond,

Coated Stock (Text  Weight)

                 Flyers, brochures  – 115 / 128/ 150 and 170 gsm silk or gloss coated paper.

Uncoated Stock (Board Weight )

               Brochures and postcards printed on 200 / 250/ 300 or 350gsm uncoated systems board.

Coated Stock (Board Weight)

             Brochures and postcards printed on 200/ 250/300/350  or 400gsm gloss or silk.

 

Coated Business cards  – 420gsm Hi-Bulk Semi-Gloss Artboard

Uncoated Business cards  – 280/ 300 or 350gsm uncoated systems card.

Specialty Uncoated Business cards  – Embossed textured stocks, tinted and pearlescent stocks on special request.
